There is no doubt of its value and great fear of its loss
Where is the kingdom?
And what does it cost?
Prophets of old foretold of its glory
Jesus the saviour told us its story
The pearl of great value it mustn’t be lost!
Sell your house
Sell your land
If it causes a stumble
Cut off your hand
Remember the pearl
Remember the plan
Invest in real riches
Not in the gold
The pearl of great value never goes old
The rich count investments and gloat in their gain
Forever in riches and never in pain
But what of the soul who has nothing, no riches to sell?
There is no doubt of its value and no fear of its loss
The price has been paid and the gem is secure
For you are the pearl the one who was lost
A reflection on the parable of the pearl. The poor in spirit are once again blessed. The rich have developed great mythologies\theologies – the result is that fear is intoduced into our hearts. The once simple message of the Gospel is confused by denominational bovine deposits.
